Rama Innovation is an Indian organization engaged in trading and marketing of Pressure Sensitive Self-Adhesive Industrial Tapes, Die-Cuts, Liquid Adhesives, Industrial Abrasives, Packaging Materials, Printing Solutions and Flexographic Consumables.
Coated-abrasive sheets designed for material removal, surface preparation, finishing, polishing, deburring and grinding across metalworking, automotive, woodworking, construction, plastics and composites.

RIFIX Abrasive sheets are flat pieces of coated abrasive, available in different sizes and grades. RIFIX Abrasive sheets and RIFIX abrasive discs are coated-abrasive products used for material removal, surface preparation, finishing, polishing, deburring, and grinding.
Grit determines the aggressiveness and resulting finish.
| Grit | Typical Use |
|---|---|
| 24–60 | Heavy material removal, rust, welds |
| 80–120 | General grinding and preparation |
| 150–240 | Intermediate finishing |
| 320–600 | Fine finishing |
| 800–2000+ | Very fine finishing/polishing |
Circular abrasive products designed primarily for angle grinders, orbital sanders, random-orbit sanders, die grinders, and other power tools, depending on disc design.
Strong fiber backing; used mainly for aggressive grinding; suitable for weld blending, stock removal, and surface preparation.
Multiple abrasive cloth flaps mounted around a backing plate. Combine material removal and finishing and generally provide smoother grinding than conventional grinding wheels. Common in metal fabrication.
Attach to a compatible backing pad, are quick to change, and are widely used for automotive and woodworking sanding.
Pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that sticks directly to a compatible backing pad for sanding and finishing applications.
Use a thin film backing instead of conventional paper, providing a more uniform abrasive surface. Common for automotive finishing and fine sanding.
Made from abrasive fibers/nylon web for cleaning, blending, deburring and surface conditioning. Usually produce a less aggressive finish than conventional coated abrasives.
Designed for efficient cutting and material removal according to the abrasive type and application.
Different abrasive grain types, grit sizes and backing strengths support varied applications.
Available in multiple diameters according to machine and application requirements.
Good flexibility for contour surfaces depending on disc design and backing.
Some designs offer cooler cutting performance for suitable applications.
Some abrasive designs include anti-loading technology for materials that tend to clog abrasives.
The abrasive grain has a major effect on performance.
| Abrasive | Main Characteristics | Typical Applications |
|---|---|---|
| Aluminium oxide | Tough, versatile, economical | Steel, wood, general-purpose sanding |
| Silicon carbide | Sharp, hard, fast cutting | Stainless steel, glass, stone, automotive finishing |
| Zirconia alumina | Tough and durable | Heavy metal grinding, stainless steel |
| Ceramic alumina | Very high cutting performance | Heavy-duty metalworking, stainless steel |
| Diamond | Extremely hard | Glass, stone, ceramics, composites |
Determines the aggressiveness and resulting finish.
Choose according to the workpiece material and required cutting performance.
Paper: economical and flexible. Cloth: stronger and more durable. Film: uniform finish and good tear resistance. Fiber: suitable for aggressive applications.
Common sizes vary according to the machine and application.
Examples include Hook & Loop, PSA, Center hole and Quick-change systems.
The disc must be suitable for the maximum RPM of the machine. Never exceed the manufacturer's rated speed.
Some abrasive sheets/discs are specifically designed for wet sanding, while others are intended only for dry use.
| Feature | Abrasive Sheet | Abrasive Disc |
|---|---|---|
| Form | Flat sheet | Circular |
| Use | Hand or sanding machine | Power tools/machines |
| Flexibility | Very high | Depends on backing |
| Material removal | Low–medium | Low–high depending on type |
| Finishing | Excellent | Excellent |
| Productivity | Lower for manual work | Higher with power tools |
| Typical applications | Fine sanding, preparation, finishing | Grinding, sanding, blending, finishing |
| Changeover | Cut/replace manually | Hook-loop/PSA/quick-change options |
